Moenier Adams aka MONOX won a Kanna Award and a Kyknet Fietsa award for best upcoming professional artist for his appearance in Afrikaaps.  He was also nominated for a Fleur du Cap Award for best performance in a musical revue for Afrikaaps. Moenier’s childhood was filled with music and performance as he grew up a ‘front man’ (voorlooper) for the Kaapse Klopse and later went on to become a star of the Malay Choir competitions in Cape Town. Moenier also featured in The Silver Fez, a documentary film about the much-revered prize for the Cape Malay choirs of Cape Town. Last year Monox also sang and danced to capacity audiences in one of Cape Town’s largest venues (CTCC) in the Michael Jackson tribute in which he played the title role. Winning prizes and performing in front of large audiences is nothing new to Monox, an incredibly talented and versatile performer, musician and producer whose future looks blazing.
